![]() Why fill up your phone or laptop with downloaded games you aren't even sure you will like yet when you can play them like this? 8. No Downloads □Īll of our titles can be played instantly with no need to download. I read every piece of feedback submitted and use it all to help decide what changes and features to implement to both the website and games. If you have any thoughts, issues or ideas don't keep them to yourself - let me know. Rather than guess or assume what you want I have a secret weapon - I ask! You will notice feedback buttons and often short surveys popping up around the site. I continuously update this website with new games and improvements. ![]() This is another advantage of removing video adverts as it means you can start playing your chosen game much faster or try out many different games to find a good one without watching an advert each time. I've also worked hard with site optimizations to make everything work as fast as possible. That's why I've used the latest cloud hosting technology to serve it all over the world from a location near you. I want players to be able to click (or tap) and play instantly. All the games on scale to fit any size screen so you can enjoy them on any device. It is frustrating when you are trying to play a game but its size is completely different to your screen. ![]() All of the games on the homepage of this site are compatible on any device. Or you want to show a friend you can pull it up on their tablet. I wanted to make a consistent experience on any device so if you play a fun game on your computer in the afternoon you can come back later on your phone to play it in bed. Other times if you visit the website on desktop then mobile you are presented with completely different games. Often web games will only work on computers and if you visit on a mobile device they don't play. I wanted to create a consistent experience across all devices. I'm not saying that online games should replace apps - I think there are great reasons for both and they can happily exist alongside each other □ 3. Online Games solve all of these problems. They can only be played on one type of device (iPhone, Android etc.). It can be a drag waiting for them to install when you just want to quickly play something new. For instance it can be tiresome installing and deleting many apps to find the game you want. I think there are some compelling reasons to give online games another shot though. Online □Īpps have been the most popular way to play casual games for a while now. All of our games and all of their content is 100% free - no exceptions! 2. All of the games on this website are complete full games with no in-game purchases whatsoever. This strategy works and some people are spending huge amounts of money on their favorite games over time without realizing how much it has added up. It seems the catch for playing free games is that they will use every trick in the book to make you pay - often many times more than you would pay for a game outright. In-app purchases and micro-transactions have become the norm in free games these days, withholding content or frustrating you to try and make you buy power-ups. With this project there are a number of things that I set out to achieve: 1. I've used this experience along with some new ideas to make this website,, my fresh take on a free game website. What started as a hobby has turned in to my passion and over the past fourteen years I've learned a lot about web games. I've also developed over a hundred web games and they've been played somewhere around a billion times! I picked up some cool awards along the way including a Guinness World Record and a BAFTA Special Commendation. My previous site,, was visited by 65 million people. I've been developing free games and websites since 2006. Hi, my name is Gaz, welcome to my website.

The medieval village of Beynac-et-Cazanac Check pricing and availability at Les Suites Sarladaises. Lovingly restored by its owners, a stay at Les Suites provides a real taste of the Sarlat of the past. Where to stay: I can’t think of a more romantic place to stay than Les Suites Sarladaises. If you’re using Sarlat as your base, you can also take tours to Beynac & Domme, along with a boat ride on the Dordogne River or a half- day tour to Rocamadour. Take a gourmet tour on Sarlat’s market day that includes tastings of the local specialties and the major sights. ![]() It’s also no surprise that you’ll discover fresh and fantastic food in Sarlat, well known for its foie gras and other local delicacies. It’s no wonder that the town has been popular as a movie set for films like Jeanne d’Arc and The Duellists. This has to be one of the most romantic places to visit in France. I really fell for this medieval town, with its glowing honey-coloured building and romantic gas-lit lanes. Sarlat is a perfect base to explore many of the villages, and this is where you’ll find many options for accommodations in the Dordogne. The Prettiest Villages in the Dordogne: Sarlat-la-Canéda is a perfect base for exploring the Dordogne Most restaurants will be open and prices for accommodations will be lower than in the summer. The weather is still warm, although there is a slightly higher chance of rain. However, my favourite time to visit is during the shoulder seasons in the spring or fall. All of the restaurants and attractions are open in the summer, and the weather is usually warm and pleasant. The most popular time to visit the Dordogne is during the summer months of July and August. It’s helpful to have a car to explore the small towns in the Dordogne, although there are local tours available from the central towns of Sarlat or Périgueux. I usually use Auto Europe to find a good price. International travelers may take the train to, or fly into Bordeaux and rent a car there. ![]() Travelers from the UK often fly directly into these two locations. Indeed, the Dordogne is home to 22 of “ The Most Beautiful Villages in France“.Ĭenturies ago, the Dordogne Valley was an important battle area during the Hundred Years War and because of this, the area is dotted with hilltop castles and pretty medieval towns. Based on my visit, these might just be the cutest towns in France you don’t want to miss. This area in France is a popular holiday destination for visitors from the UK, but is lesser known to tourists from North America. Small, charming villages are a specialty of France, but, I’m convinced that you’ll find the prettiest villages in the Dordogne, an idyllic region in the southwest corner of the country. ![]() In his 1803 paper Fundamental Principles of Equilibrium and Movement, the French mathematician Lazare Carnot proposed that in any machine, the accelerations and shocks of the moving parts represent losses of moment of activity in any natural process there exists an inherent tendency towards the dissipation of useful energy. ![]() History Rudolf Clausius (1822–1888), originator of the concept of entropy He thereby introduced the concept of statistical disorder and probability distributions into a new field of thermodynamics, called statistical mechanics, and found the link between the microscopic interactions, which fluctuate about an average configuration, to the macroscopically observable behavior, in form of a simple logarithmic law, with a proportionality constant, the Boltzmann constant, that has become one of the defining universal constants for the modern International System of Units (SI). Īustrian physicist Ludwig Boltzmann explained entropy as the measure of the number of possible microscopic arrangements or states of individual atoms and molecules of a system that comply with the macroscopic condition of the system. He initially described it as transformation-content, in German Verwandlungsinhalt, and later coined the term entropy from a Greek word for transformation. In 1865, German physicist Rudolf Clausius, one of the leading founders of the field of thermodynamics, defined it as the quotient of an infinitesimal amount of heat to the instantaneous temperature. The thermodynamic concept was referred to by Scottish scientist and engineer William Rankine in 1850 with the names thermodynamic function and heat-potential. A consequence of the second law of thermodynamics is that certain processes are irreversible. As a result, isolated systems evolve toward thermodynamic equilibrium, where the entropy is highest. ![]() Įntropy is central to the second law of thermodynamics, which states that the entropy of an isolated system left to spontaneous evolution cannot decrease with time. It has found far-ranging applications in chemistry and physics, in biological systems and their relation to life, in cosmology, economics, sociology, weather science, climate change, and information systems including the transmission of information in telecommunication. The term and the concept are used in diverse fields, from classical thermodynamics, where it was first recognized, to the microscopic description of nature in statistical physics, and to the principles of information theory. Entropy is a scientific concept that is most commonly associated with a state of disorder, randomness, or uncertainty. ![]() Landscape Grading, which involves an excavator operator levelling or sculping the ground to prepare the area for a specific project. ![]() Operators can dig trenches with excavators to accomplish several functions including setting foundations, installation of wires and pipes, or creating an ideal area where seeds can be planted.

![]() Radiant intensity per unit frequency or wavelength. Radiant flux emitted, reflected, transmitted or received, per unit solid angle. The latter is commonly measured in W⋅nm −1. ![]() Radiant flux per unit frequency or wavelength. This is sometimes also called "radiant power", and called luminosity in Astronomy. Radiant energy emitted, reflected, transmitted or received, per unit time. ![]() For instance, the irradiance of Alpha Centauri A (radiant flux: 1.5 L ☉, distance: 4.34 ly) is about 2.7 × 10 −8 W/m 2 on Earth. This is a good approximation because the distance from even a nearby star to the Earth is much larger than the star's diameter. In astronomy, stars are routinely treated as point sources even though they are much larger than the Earth. A is the surface area of a sphere of radius r.įor quick approximations, this equation indicates that doubling the distance reduces irradiation to one quarter or similarly, to double irradiation, reduce the distance to 0.7.Irradiance of a surface, denoted E e ("e" for "energetic", to avoid confusion with photometric quantities), is defined as E e = ∂ Φ e ∂ A, The two forms have different dimensions and units: spectral irradiance of a frequency spectrum is measured in watts per square metre per hertz (W⋅m −2⋅Hz −1), while spectral irradiance of a wavelength spectrum is measured in watts per square metre per metre (W⋅m −3), or more commonly watts per square metre per nanometre (W⋅m −2⋅nm −1). Spectral irradiance is the irradiance of a surface per unit frequency or wavelength, depending on whether the spectrum is taken as a function of frequency or of wavelength. In astrophysics, irradiance is called radiant flux. Irradiance is often called intensity, but this term is avoided in radiometry where such usage leads to confusion with radiant intensity. The CGS unit erg per square centimetre per second (erg⋅cm −2⋅s −1) is often used in astronomy. The SI unit of irradiance is the watt per square metre (W⋅m −2). In radiometry, irradiance is the radiant flux received by a surface per unit area. The shading is proportional to intensity.Measure of radiant energy over surface area These stereo speakers produce both constructive interference and destructive interference in the room, a property common to the superposition of all types of waves. We will pursue interference patterns elsewhere in this text. Figure 2 shows what this interference might look like. For example, if we have two stereo speakers putting out each, there will be places in the room where the intensity is other places where the intensity is zero, and others in between. ![]() We actually get a pattern of both constructive interference and destructive interference whenever two waves are added. The addition of waves is not as simple as our first look in Chapter 16.10 Superposition and Interference suggested. There are other areas where the intensity is zero. The area over which the intensity is is much less than the area covered by the two waves before they interfered. This violation, of course, cannot happen. The two individual waves each have intensities of yet their sum has an intensity of which may appear to violate conservation of energy. The intensity goes up by a factor of 4 when the amplitude doubles. In fact, a wave’s energy is directly proportional to its amplitude squared because Because work is related to force multiplied by distance and energy is put into the wave by the work done to create it, the energy in a wave is related to amplitude. The larger the displacement the larger the force needed to create it. More quantitatively, a wave is a displacement that is resisted by a restoring force. Large ocean breakers churn up the shore more than small ones. Loud sounds have higher pressure amplitudes and come from larger-amplitude source vibrations than soft sounds. Large-amplitude earthquakes produce large ground displacements. The amount of energy in a wave is related to its amplitude. Ultrasound is used for deep-heat treatment of muscle strains. Loud sounds pulverize nerve cells in the inner ear, causing permanent hearing loss. Earthquakes can shake whole cities to the ground, performing the work of thousands of wrecking balls. The energy of some waves can be directly observed. (credit: Petty Officer 2nd Class Candice Villarreal, U.S. The Richter scale rating of earthquakes is related to both their amplitude and the energy they carry. The destructive effect of an earthquake is palpable evidence of the energy carried in these waves. Calculate the intensity and the power of rays and waves.įigure 1. crap like that which I think is kind of lame. Like you gotta replace cymbals with cymbals and toms with toms. So any kits you pick up you can build your own from their various kitpeices. You can mix and match kits when using AD2. Anyway, I'm not worried about which MIDI packs I choose it's the ADpaks which concern me most right now. I wouldn't mind browsing some loops as a learning experience, though. As for the MIDI packs and loops and stuff, well, I almost never use other people's loops, because I like to play everything myself. So, even if a kit sounds awesome, but doesn't have much variety, I probably won't use it. I prefer to use one kit per song, rather than multiple kits (a standard kit for kick/snare/hat and a percussion kit for toms/bongos/effects). Because my songs tend to be long, I love having kits with lots of drum sounds (toms, bongos, etc.) which can add variety and texture. I don't like purely "electronic" music very much (techno, drum-and-bass, dubstep, etc.) so I do NOT want electronic-sounding kits I have enough of those with Battery 4 anyway. Some of the biggest influences would be Fela Kuti (afrobeat), Can (krautrock), Miles Davis (jazz), and Shriekback (post-punk). ![]() There's elements of jazz, reggae, and krautrock, but I also love listening to post-punk, so I'm always trying to inject a raw, rock-based feel into it as well. Cheers.Īs for what genres seem most appropriate: I tend to create long, rhythmic, groove-based tracks with improvisation on the top. They'd just need to be remapped to trigger AD2. and really Sonar comes with a buttload of the simpelr beats anyway for rock and blues and crap like that. kind of a hack really but I fake it well) so the other MIDIpaks did not offer anything I could not play live on my padKontrol or program. I used to play drums at an intermediate level (but self taught. ![]() I just wanted the most interesting and complex fills and beats I'd never be able to play or program myself so those seemed like the best options. For the MIDIpaks I got the Metal one, the Jazz sticks one (IIRC) and the Modern Jazz one (IIRC). I REAAAAALY wanted the Jazz Brushes and Sticks combo (which are two separate ADpaks) but figured they would not provide me with enough usage for what I'm likely to make money on. Fairfax 1 (clean, well produced kit that is good for rock but as a general up front/full bodied/punchy kit) Metal (suuuuper tight and snappy kit with triggers and all the garnish you'd expect for modern and old school metal) Indie (more vintage, less tight, more "swoosh" and "bomp" type sound, supposed to be for "indie" rock but can easily be used for "oldies" rock, big band, classic country, whatever you'd use an older kit/analog studio production for). Because I do rock/metal but often dabble in more traditional styles I went with. but all answers would likely be highly subjective. If you elaborated more on that then your query would be easier to answer. It really depends on what type of music you intend to create with them/what kind of drum sounds you like. |
