Hence, Iola Missionary Baptist Church opposes all forms of sexual immorality, including but not limited to premarital sex, extramarital behavior, homosexual behavior, and pornography. Iola Missionary Baptist Church also believes that the Bible teaches that legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage between a man and woman. Accordingly, this church’s pastors and staff will not officiate in same-sex unions or same-sex marriages, nor will its property or resources be used for such purposes. Iola Missionary Baptist Church recognizes that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment. In complement to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000, Iola Missionary Baptist Church believes the following, as its conscientious religious conviction, in regards to marriage and sexuality – Marriage is a biblical institution established by God as described in Genesis 2:15-25 and Matthew 19:4-5. ![]() The ordinances of the church are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, personally committed to sharing the Good News of salvation to lost humankind. The church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of “The Baptist Faith and Message” as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000. The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith. To be a church whose purpose is to be Christ-like in our Daily Living by emphasizing total commitment of life, personality, and possessions to the Lordship of Christ. To be a church that ministers unselfishly to persons in the community and world in Jesus’ name. To help people experience a growing knowledge of God and man. To experience an increasingly meaningful fellowship with God and fellow believers. To be a worshiping fellowship, experiencing an awareness of God, recognizing His person, and responding in obedience to His leadership. To be a dynamic spiritual organism empowered by the Holy Spirit to share Christ with as many people as possible in our church, community, and throughout the world. This body shall be known as Iola Missionary Baptist Church of Iola, Texas. We declare and establish this constitution to preserve and secure the principles of our faith, and to govern the body in an orderly manner. This constitution will preserve the liberties of each individual church member and the freedom of action of this body in its relation to other churches.
